Anthony Rojas is an Emmy-nominated Latino film director, photographer, and graphic designer born and raised in Washington Heights, New York City. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Purchase College where he majored in Cinema Studies and double-minored in Film Production and Screenwriting.
A singular theme transcends the scope of Rojas’ work: community. Being from a predominantly low-income neighborhood— Rojas has witnessed community members come together where government and local politicians have failed to do so. As he began to notice this, his desire to preserve the legacy of his neighbors was born. This sense of responsibility fuels his passion for storytelling as he strives to bring visibility to stories exploring the complexities of the Latinx identity.
Most notably, Rojas has directed a 60-second spot entitled “You’ve Been Ready” for Warner Bros. Disovery’s New York Latino Film Festival that has gone on to become Imagen and Emmy nominated.
